Smoking cessation

Have acupuncture treatment to stop smoking before the ban is implemented on 1st July 2007.

There is mounting evidence that not only do smokers have higher rates of illness and death than non-smokers but passive smokers are also at risk.

Acupuncture is a very effective treatment for smoking cessation. It reduces cravings and anxiety and it promotes relaxation.

After consultation with an acupuncturist, fine needles will be placed in the ears (auriculotherapy) and sometimes in points on the limbs. The needles may be stimulated manually or electronically. Tiny ear needles or balls are usually placed in the ears with small plasters and left in place for up to a month. These should be pressed several times during the day to stimulate the points.
